Advantages of Led Lighting Compared with Traditional Lighting
Advantages of Led Lighting Compared with Traditional Lighting
1. LED lamp life:
Compared with traditional lighting solutions, the most obvious advantage of LEDs is the easily long service life. The average service life of 40w led track light China is from 50,000 working hours to 100,000 working hours or longer. This is 2-4 times that of most fluorescent lamps, metal halide, and even sodium vapor lamps. It is more than 40 times that of ordinary incandescent bulbs.
Less replacement means two major things: reduced labor maintenance costs, and reduced parts replacement costs (because the bulb will not fail for a long time).
2. LED energy efficiency:
LEDs generally consume very low power. The statistics to look for when comparing the energy efficiency of two lighting solutions are called by one of two terms: luminous efficiency or useful lumens. These two items basically describe the amount of light emitted per unit power (watt) consumed by the bulb. According to our experience, most LED lighting retrofit projects will increase the overall energy efficiency of facility lighting by 60-75%. Depending on the existing lights and the specific LEDs installed, the cost savings may exceed 90%. You can read some case studies here.
3. Improved LED safety:
When it comes to LED lighting, safety may be the most overlooked advantage. The first major hazard of lighting is heat dissipation. LEDs hardly emit positive heat, while traditional light bulbs (such as incandescent lamps) convert the total energy used to directly power them to more than 90%. This means that only 10% of the energy actually drives incandescent lamps for lighting (compared to LEDs, they are extremely inefficient). In addition, because LEDs consume less power, they can operate efficiently on low-voltage electrical systems. If something goes wrong, these methods are usually safer.
4. The LED light is very small:
The actual LED device is very small. Small power devices may be less than one-tenth of an mm 2, while large power devices may still only have mm 2. Their small size makes LEDs ideal for an unlimited number of lighting applications. The different uses of LEDs range from the roots of circuit board lighting and traffic lights to modern atmosphere lighting, residential and commercial property applications, and even large-scale stadium lighting.
5. LED has an excellent color rendering index (CRI):
CRI is a measure of the ability of light to reveal the actual color of an object compared to an ideal light source (natural light). High CRI is usually the desired characteristic (of course, this depends on the desired application). When it comes to CRI, LEDs usually have very high (good) ratings.
The best way to appreciate CRI may be to directly compare LED lighting (with higher CRI) and traditional lighting solutions (such as sodium vapor lamps) (their CRI levels are usually low and in some cases almost monochromatic ) Direct comparison between. The possible value range of different LED lights is usually between 65 and 95, which is considered excellent.
6. LED produces directional emission:
LED technology only emits light 180 degrees. All other types of light emit 360-degree light around the light source. 360-degree emission requires accessory devices to reflect and/or redirect light. In general, this increases the cost of the system and inevitably leads to losses, which means that the efficiency of the equipment must be lower than it should be. Consider the light-emitting to the ceiling-this is your standard light bulb. The problem is that you want to illuminate the room, not the ceiling. LED completely solves this problem and saves costs in terms of the overall energy efficiency of the system.
7. LED has great design flexibility:
Because LEDs are so small, they can be used in almost any application you can think of. They can be combined into a bunch for traditional light bulbs, which can be used alone as small equipment lights, or they can be inserted in a linear fashion. Almost everything you can think of can be done with LEDs.
8. LED is a solid-state light (SSL):
LEDs are solid-state lights. This means that the traditional glass bulb surrounding the lamp is completely unnecessary.
9. LED dimming ability:
LEDs can work at almost any percentage (0 to 100%) of their rated power. It’s worth noting that they do require LED technology-specific hardware for dimming (which means you can’t use dimming devices for incandescent bulbs or other traditional lighting technologies). The positive thing about running LEDs at a power lower than full power is that as the power decreases, they become more efficient. This also increases the total life of the lamp itself. Technologies such as metal halides do not have these two advantages. These technologies are actually less efficient at lower power, and in many cases cannot make it dark at all.
10. The LED provides instant turn-on, and there is no problem when switching frequently:
The LED turns on and off instantly. There is no warm-up period like metal halide lamps. In addition, frequent switching will not cause equipment performance degradation.
11. LED lights are environmentally safe:
LED does not have the environmental problems common to traditional lighting solutions (such as fluorescent lamps or mercury vapor lamps). Both of these traditional solutions contain mercury inside the bulb, so special treatment is required at the end of the product's life. LED does not need to consider all these factors.
12. The ultraviolet ray produced by LED is almost zero:
LED emits most of the energy in the visible spectrum, a small amount of energy in the infrared spectrum, and almost no energy in the ultraviolet part of the spectrum. This means that LEDs can safely and reliably illuminate UV-sensitive items (such as artworks), and if exposed to this type of emission, they will decompose and degrade over time.
13. The LED works under very low voltage:
In many cases, the operating voltage of the LED is very low. This makes them suitable for other outdoor lighting applications where another lighting may not meet specifications, for example, a waterfront house where the ground of the property is located in a flooded area.
14. The cold and hot temperature of the LED working well:
LEDs can work well within a wide operating temperature range without significant degradation.
15. Correlated color temperature (CCT):
LEDs have a variety of correlated color temperature (CCT) values. You can buy products with "warm", yellowish light, "cool", white light, and many other options. You can read more about CCT here.
